P5 : Is India the greatest Country of the world ?

I was standing in the lift when I overheard a conversation between two Info-scion

One said “Dude, Did you read the latest scam, its bigger than the previous one”

Second retorted “Yes Bro, Our nation is doomed, Is desh Ka kuch nahin ho sakta (Nothing good can ever happen to our country)”

Lift reached ground floor & we departed our way but this conversation kept lingering over in my mind till this date.

“Is india the greatest country of the country or kya kabhi iss desh ka kuch acha ho sakta hain?”

I kept brooding about this question and burnt the midnight oil to answer this question –

After deliberate research, I reached on the conclusion “They were right – Nothing good can happen to our country”

I can see the rage in the eyes of the patriotic every Indian,

before you label me unpatriotic, Let me justify my conclusion

It’s simple, Look at the corruption from the Traffic cop at the signal to the Telecom Minister – every one is corrupt. Red tape has vitiated our system.

My prognosis is soon we will have a new Right in the constitution “Right  to do corruption” .

India ranks 94th in the world for corruption & 132 in respect to the ease of doing business.

Our 26% of the population is below the poverty line. Surprisingly we have the second largest population in the world & of which 26% goes to bed without food.

Did you know that 26% of these poor exceeds the entire population of 74 nations.

Our streets are filthy and full of potholes. We rank 123rd with respect to the cleanness & infrastructure.

Our judicial system is exploited by the rich and the powerful. Also our courts take years to provide sentence & the pending cases is a common misery of every citizen .

India is the leader in the I.T solution, we dominate the world through call centers but we have more than 30% of population as illiterate?

We have the one of the most beautiful heritage and monuments in the world which are been vandalized by scribbling on the wall such as Billu Loves Rani

We have increasing no of  female foeticides, Rapes & molestation’s happening every day in the various cities of the country.

Now my Question to you –

Do you agree with what I just said ?

But before you berate our beloved motherland , Let me tell you something –

We can easily sight numerous drawback in our country but friends there are many good things about India which we take for granted such as

If we were living in Saudi Arabia,

Sri hari would’t be able to ask the beautiful girl sitting there for a date.

Sambhav wouldn’t be able to go out for a long drive with his girlfriends.

Anu wouldn’t be allowed to drive a activa or a car.

If we were born in Africa,

We couldn’t go out after sun set.

We couldn’t travel alone or without body guards.

If we were born in China,

We couldn’t publicly criticize our government for been corrupt.

Hell, we can’t even access facebook or Youtube in china.

If we were born in the Afghanistan.

we couldn’t educate any girl.

(more on the good parts of India)

Let me come to my original question “Is India the greatest country of the world”

My answer is “No, India is not the greatest country of the world but We can be”

By saying No to the corruption. We are the culprits , we offer the bribe, if everyone stops giving bribe. we can obliterate corruption from its root.

By educating the illiterate people and creating awareness regarding the importance of the education.

By preserving our rich heritage & keeping our street clean.

By respecting the women of our country.

Above all, the most important –

By voting in the general election of 2014.

Remember “Be the change, you want to be”.

“My Declaration of Self-esteem”

I happened to came across a poem by Virginia Satire .

Every time I read the poem, I go into deep thoughts

Every time I read the poem, I relate to my failures & dissappointments

Every time I read the poem, I relate to my triumphs & achievements

Every time I read the poem, I feel Happy & Sad at the same moment

Every time I read the poem, I find a different meaning hidden between those lines.

“My Declaration of Self-esteem” – Virginia Satire

In all the world,
there is no one else exactly like me
everything that comes out of me is authentically mine,
because I alone choose it – I own everything about me – my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions,
whether they be to others or to myself –
I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears –
I own all my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me – by so doing I can love me and be friendly with me in all my parts –
I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me,
and other aspects that I do not know –
but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself,
I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and for ways to find out more about me
However I look and sound, whatever I say and do,
and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me – If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought and felt turned out to be unfitting, I can discard that which I feel is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded –
I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do.
I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive,
and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me –
I own me, and therefore I can engineer me
I am me &

P.S – keep  re-Reading it & see the wonder of this poem.

(I have Underlined the lines which touched my heart, I hope these lines touch your heart too)

A small note to Future Prateek

Motivation level has its ups and down.

Sometime, I think I can do anything while sometime, I think I can’t do anything.

Some days, I think I’m a winner while some day,s I think I’m a loser.

Majority of people have lows and highs. Even people like Robin Sharma must have days when his motivation level is low and he doesn’t want to do anything except to sleep all day.

What should we do to get out of the current state of mind –

Firstly, write your “GOALS”

For instance, I need to remind my self of my goal in the life.

My short term goal is to crack GRE & get admission in Ivy League College.

My Long term goal is to start my own Financial Statistics company.

It’s important to share your goals with everyone around you. Sharing helps to increase the accountability.

I’m sharing my Goal on my blog so that every time I feel beaten up & lost, I would come back & read this blog.

Secondly, look at the “Big picture”

Think, 5 years from now or 10 years from now or 15 years from now, will the current problem matters?

If it won’t, stop worrying about it.

If it will, deal with it.
